Have we become a disposable society? Seems like it, since we dispose what we don’t want even when it comes to our children.
There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children. Nelson Mandela
we have become more concerned with the preservation of our planet than with the preservation of human life.
When it comes to children and specifically the unborn children, we are a disposable society.
This quote by the late South African President, Nelson Mandela speaks volumes on society’s regard towards the most vulnerable.
I think this is particularly evident with the lack of attention given to:
- child sex trafficking
- sexual exploitation of minors through porn industry, and porn culture
- abortion, especially heinous is late term abortion
Indeed, we have become more concerned with the preservation of our planet in the form of climate change than with the preservation of human life.
To be clear, I have nothing against protecting and taking care of what God entrusted to us. However, when it comes to the environmental issues, there’s seems to be a mindset of “all hands on deck” mentality to preserve God’s green earth.
Certainly with such a strong push for change regarding the environment, Paul’s letter to the Romans rings clear that mans’ priority is to worship the creation rather than the Creator.
Black Lives are disposable too.
If only we had that same mindset when it comes to the life of the unborn. We reverence the things God has created, but not those who have been made in His image and likeness…
This past election cycle there was a big push by progressives about environmental, racial and social issues. With a new administration in place, more states will most likely feel emboldened to push for late term abortion, killing millions more in the womb.
Clearly 2020 was a hotbed of emotions. Chaos reigned in our election, and on our streets with racial tension, protests and riots. Divisions of all kinds were rampant even in the church.
As a black woman, wife and mother, I absolutely understand the original intent of the Black Lives Matter movement.
I understand the reason behind the support of those who marched in the protest for the BLM movement.
However, what I don’t understand is how the statement “all lives” matter became almost synonymous with hate speech. Yet there is no acknowledgment of the “black lives” of so many babies snuffed out of a mother’s womb every minute.
I guess black lives are disposable too.
The Lord created each of us in His image: black, white, short, tall, etc…
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness... So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them...And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it...And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. Genesis 1:26, 27-28; 31
Ultimately, if our society truly values and desires positive change in the world we live in… we first must start with acknowledging our own sinful heart.
Secondly,
We’ll need to stop disposing of a generation who can help make that change happen.
Be Encouraged!

Prayer: Father, thank you for creating all people in YOUR image. Please forgive us for not placing the same value on life even as You gave YOUR Son’s life on the Cross for us. In Jesus name!
