If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.
Joseph Goebbels
They say the truth is stranger than fiction. But, judging from this quote, by a notorious German, Nazi propagandist, truth isn’t strange, it’s an ENEMY.
WE ARE IN ENEMY TERRITORY
Looking at Goebbel’s standpoint, those who believes and dare I say speaks the truth, based on Scripture, especially in the times we’re living in, would be deemed an enemy of the state.
However, the greatest enemy of the state are the enemies of the Cross of Christ.
For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things. - Philippians 3:18-19
Our nation is in enemy territory, both naturally and spiritually…
King David, was well versed in being in enemy territory. Many of his foes who rose up against him were within his own household or circle. However, David was quick to call upon his God whom he knew would defeat any enemy.
Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him. - Psalm 68:1
The True Enemy of the State
Sometimes we can see the hand of the Enemy, most times we cannot. The true Enemy is our Adversary the Devil
(1 Peter 5:8).
Looking at the events unfolding in Afghanistan, Haiti, and in our own nation currently, it seems like the true Enemy of the state of our souls is winning. I’ve said before that the campaign slogan of President Joe Biden “battle for the soul of the nation” was spot on because indeed we are in a battle.

But that battle is not ours to fight (2 Chronicles 20:15)
David, ultimately understood where his help came from while in the midst of adversity and with an adversary. As believers and followers of Christ, we need to believe and understand that the LORD JESUS is greater than any enemy, seen and unseen!
He is the One that can make all our enemies flee!
Be Encouraged!
