14 So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. 15 This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. - Hebrews 4:14-15 NLT
I have a tendency of saying “been there, done that” whenever I’m speaking to someone that I can relate to having the same problem or experience as me. It signifies you’re in a kind of solidarity with someone whose experience may be similar to your own. In essence, there’s a connection with that person which helps you understand where they’re coming from.
The same is true with the Lord Jesus.
We don’t have to fake it with God.
The writer of Hebrews lets us know that we have a High Priest Jesus who is connected with us through our weaknesses. This great High Priest is:
1. Our ultimate “go-between” – between us and The Father.
2. He is Someone we can trust and believe in.
3. The best part of this is that our High Priest Jesus already understands and can identify with us and our issues.
In other words, Jesus has been there and done that. We don’t have to fake it with God.
In the midst of everything that’s happening in our world right now, some of us may be feeling very vulnerable. We’re feeling emotionally, physically, and spiritually vulnerable and weak. It’s a blessing and a relief to know that when we’re feeling at our weakest, we can go to the throne of grace and find mercy and help in our time of need.
Be encouraged and be safe!
