What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving season? So much has transpired this year for many Americans, who continue try and cope with post pandemic issues.
A 2020 survey from Nashville-based Lifeway Research, more than 4 in 5 Americans (84%) say they are thankful for their family.
When googling what Americans are giving thanks for in 2022, I found an interesting list of headlines:
- What I’m thankful for … even though I don’t celebrate Thanksgiving
- Thankful for our democracy, with all its faults
- Thankful to Be an American
Or how about this one? Investors have very little to be thankful for in 2022
That last one is interesting to me because the Bible I read says that we are to be thankful in ALL THINGS.
In everything give thanks; - 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Granted the world may not know this, but it is very important that those who call upon the name of the Lord know this and show this to a hurting world. It’s important that we show how grateful we are for and in everything God is doing in our life and in the world. Not as unwise but as wise.
Whether it’s the good, the bad or the ugly.
Why should we give thanks in everything? Because that is God’s will for us as Christ followers.
in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. - 1 Thessalonians 5:18
This year as we gather with family and friends for the holidays, let’s have hearts of gratitude and celebrate the goodness and faithfulness of God despite the circumstances we may be facing.
Be Encouraged!

Prayer of Thanksgiving: Father, thank you for your goodness and your faithfulness this year even when I was faithless. Give me a heart of gratitude and help me to share that with others, in Jesus Name!
